mentor or a
mentee.
A mentor serves as a guide, offering support, and insight to a less experienced individual, often referred to as a mentee. Essential attributes of a mentor encompass:
- Drawing on personal career experiences, mentors impart lessons from their triumphs and failures to offer invaluable counsel.
- They disseminate specialized knowledge, industry norms, and actionable advice.
- By introducing mentees to pertinent professional circles and opportunities, mentors facilitate valuable connections.
- Mentors provide emotional backing through encouragement, inspiration, and understanding.
The mentor's influence transcends mere organizational familiarity, actively fostering the personal and professional advancement of the mentee.
Each mentor will commit to offer at least 30mins per month for each allocated mentee (after validation by the mentor).
Mentees, in turn, are expected to demonstrate:
- A willingness to absorb knowledge, heed advice, and accept constructive criticism.
- Initiative in orchestrating interactions with their mentor, arriving equipped with queries and topics for discussion.
- An openness to novel concepts, diverse viewpoints, and varied methodologies.
- A respectful attitude towards the mentor's expertise, time, and personal limits.
- A commitment to preserving the confidentiality of discussions, ensuring a trusted environment for frank communication.
