Course Selection
We have THREE main course options. Please read the descriptions carefully before selecting your course. If you are not sure which course to choose, you can email ell@greatroadchurch.org for help. You may only register for ONE course each session, but you can change your registration to a different course after classes start if you decide you would prefer a different course.
Upper Beginner English | **ONLINE ONLY**

Upper Beginner English is a traditional, textbook-style course for upper beginners. We meet virtually on Zoom, so you will need internet and a computer. We cover basic grammar, pronunciation and topics such as the weather and shopping terms. Students should be able to read short simple text and communicate in simple and routine tasks. The class is encouraging and fun. It meets Mondays from 7:00-8:15pm.

Students will need to purchase a $25 textbook for this course. Scholarship is available if you cannot pay for a textbook. Please email ell@greadroadchurch.org if you will need scholarship to cover the cost of the book.
Beginner English | **IN-PERSON**
Beginner English is a traditional course for beginner level english speakers. It meets in-person from 7:00-8:15pm on Wednesday evenings at 255 Great Road in Acton.
English Conversation Course | **ONLINE**
This is a course for speaking and listening practice. It meets online with flexible scheduling for approximately 8 weeks.

Each student is paired with a fluent English speaker for conversation practice, and you and your partner will choose a time to practice conversation each week. Every week will focus on a different topic. Each week, you will receive a document with conversation questions, vocabulary and idioms on a topic. You and your conversation partner will use the conversation questions to practice talking in English about that topic each week. This course is usually best for intermediate or advanced level students, or for beginners who want to focus on speaking practice.
