SURJ-MN Beyond Policing Circles
Beyond Policing Circles give members an opportunity to explore our own relationship to the concepts of safety, authority and compliance. Small groups (5-9 participants & 2 facilitators) will meet for 4 sessions, 2.5 hours each, following a curriculum designed to:
1. Facilitate a deeper understanding of the history and harm of current policing models;
2. Build connection between individuals who are committed to shrinking the power of police in our community
3. Empower members to take action together, and offer opportunities to line up with local BIPOC leadership in development of community safety alternatives to policing.
We are looking for folks to participate in a variety of ways for this round of circles, running from mid-August through mid-September. Please fill out this form if you're interested. We are aiming to have circles finalized early August and will contact you once that is set.
