Be The Performer You Want to Be
Who are you and what do you want?
As a performer you need these answers before you can really develop stage presence. When you start out you compare yourself to others, you do what you are ‘supposed’ to, Imposter syndrome creeps in. What if you don’t fit in? What if you don’t WANT to fit in? I can’t nor would I ever tell you what to do but I’ll share with you what I’ve learned along the way.

2:30 - 3:15pm Moxie Blue
All Eyes on You: The Art of Not Moving
Often as performers we feel the need to fill the stage with movement, or fill every part of the music. This can make you look and feel frantic, and leave the audience exhausted. In this workshop, we'll explore the art of the pause, the breath, and eye contact to help you draw in and engage your audience. We will listen to different music and try different types of movement: the pause, the breath, and eye contact, as well as using your reveals to slow down.
Moxie Blue has been a burlesque performer and producer in the Seattle WA area since 2019. She has been in the Vermont Burlesque Festival (3 years in a row), Kootenay Burlesque Festival, Panama Burlesque Festival, and Vancouver International Burlesque Festival. She produces monthly shows in the Seattle area, bringing a diverse group of performers together to tease and entertain the audience. Her most frequently booked act has been called the slowest burn in town.

3:30 - 4:15pm Sabrina D'Buff
Mobility Training for Performers
Have you ever dreamed of doing a movement in your performance but didn't trust your body to be able to? Maybe you used to be able to move a specific way but injury or age has shifted that?
As a personal trainer, dancer, and instructor, Sabrina has learned so many tricks that help strengthen joints, release excess tension and create strong flexibility. Sometimes it's hard to know where to start. She wants to show you ways to relieve pain, avoid injuries, and enhance the trust in your body.
We are performers and it can take a toll on the body, but it doesn't have to.
(Movement based, wear comfortable clothes and bring water)
