Roundtable Discussion "Current Economic Situation in Ukraine"

The Fulbright Program in Ukraine is pleased to invite you to a roundtable discussion on the “Current Economic Situation in Ukraine,” to be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, 6:00 p.m., at the Fulbright Office (20 Esplanadna Street, Suite 904, M "Palats Sportu", Kyiv).

Basil Kalymon, organizer and Chair of the Advisory Group "International Economic Observer Group", will be the featured speaker.

Basil Kalymon is a professor emeritus of finance at the Ivey Business School at Western University (London, ON). He obtained a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto (Toronto, ON) and then completed a Ph.D. at Yale University (New Haven, CT). Prior to joining Ivey in 1999, he held positions at the management schools of the University of California, Los Angeles, Harvard University and the University of Toronto. He has held visiting appointments at ESCP in Paris, Johannes Kepler University in Austria. Prof. Kalymon has acted as Advisory Dean at Kyiv Mohyla Business School and has lectured extensively in Kyiv over the past 20 years.

He has been one of the preeminent expert witness in utility rate regulation disputes in Canada in the gas and oil pipeline transmission sectors as well as in electric energy distribution.

His publications include several books and over one hundred other publications including articles in academic journals, books, conference proceedings and technical reports. He has provided financial expert witness testimony at numerous regulatory hearings in Canada and the US and has acted as a consultant for a wide range of clients. He has served on the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and on the boards of a number of corporations.
