Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! This questionnaire helps us to determine who fits well with our service and mission statement.
A little bit about Safe Ride and the volunteer position:
-Safe Ride is an assault prevention shuttle on the University of Oregon campus that is a free, safe alternative to traveling alone at night. We give rides to students, faculty, and staff members in groups of 3 or less (because they are more at risk for assault compared to larger groups). We are a feminist organization that strives to be inclusive and accessible to all.
-By volunteering you're signing up for a 2 hour shift, one night per week, every week, weeks 1 through 10. We want our volunteers to be consistent, but understand that sometimes things come up. Shifts are available in fall term for 6-8pm, 8-10pm, and 10-12am Sunday -Thursday. As a volunteer you will be sitting in the passenger seat of one of our vans navigating, using the CB radio, talking to riders, and overseeing the schedule of rides. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, get to know Eugene, and help prevent assault!
