Our pharmacy department is located across our 3 main hospital sites. All Clinical Rotational Pharmacists posts at EKHUFT sit within the Clinical Pharmacy Service. We have 100+ Clinical Pharmacy Staff that work within a growing department of over 200.


We have a risk assessed clinical service, meaning that we provide a clinical service to the areas with the highest medicines risk. This is currently providing a clinical service 5 days a week to most areas. In addition, we provide a 7-day service on the Acute Medicine Units at QEQM and WHH, Acute Frailty Units (AFU) at QEQM and WHH, Critical Care Unit at WHH and 6-day service to our Cancer patients.  


The Pharmacy Technician Team is an expanding, dynamic and skilled workforce, with a unified and developing team of Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant Technical Officers across multiple sites. We have Pharmacy Technicians working across both our operational and clinical service which includes, the dispensaries, a variety of different clinical areas, the education team, procurement, distribution, clinical trials, aseptic, radio pharmacy and homecare.

 
We actively support and encourage Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians from all sectors to join our team and have experience with supporting this changing role.

Our Trust participates in numerous clinical research studies, with Kent and Medway’s Clinical Trials Unit at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
