In order to have your application considered for this program, you must fill everything out, including the application section and personal statement. Applicants are also required to get a brief letter/message of support from a youth group advisor or their congregation’s religious educator. APPLICATION DEADLINE (Including youth group advisor or religious educator letter/message of support)– September 22, 2019, 5:00 PM
Applications will be processed and acceptance letters e-mailed on or about October 15, 2019. A substantial deposit will be due by the middle of November. The estimated cost of the trip is $2,000 per youth plus transit to/from the East Coast hub where the trip starts and a non-refundable $150 registration fee. The trip cost includes international airfare from an East Coast hub; participants will need to book and pay for flights to and from the East Coast hub from their home separately. We have secured a UU Funding Panel grant which reduces the cost, and we’re planning a Faithify campaign in the fall. Pending a successful Faithify campaign, we expect the cost per youth to be between $425 and $625 (plus airfare to/from the East Coast hub and the registration fee). We suggest that participants also fundraise in their congregations; we’ll have suggestions for fundraising.
