Conference Theme: *El Poder de la Mujer Latina: Impacting Equity, Diversity, and Social Justice in Higher Education
Our conference, this year, seeks to empower women to create change on their college campuses. We hope to make community colleges equitable spaces for Latinos across California. Social justice in higher education can help create this reality for Latinas and Latinos everywhere and continue bringing diversity onto their campuses.

We are seeking presentation proposals from professionals who can motivate and
empower Latinas. Presenters should focus on capturing the essence of the conference theme.

LLN Vision
The LLN conference creates a strong network for Latina students and professionals within the California Community College (CCC) system. We aim to empower Latina women through various stages of their educational and/or professional journeys, to seek leadership roles in their campus communities, and to advocate for current and future generations of mujeres in higher education.
Conference Mission
The mission of the LLN Conference is to create a space for sharing high impact practices addressing equity, diversity, and social justice issues faced by the Latinx community. We come together to harness collective experiences and foster inclusionary practices through cultural unity.
Conference Goals
Students:
•To foster professional development and network opportunities for student leader throughout the CCCs system.
•To inspire students toward leadership roles in their community and educational advancement.
•To increase discourse around current issues impacting students regarding Student Equity, Diversity and Social Justice.

CCC Professionals
•To expose Latina professionals to a network of hermanas (sisters) that have experience navigating through the CCC
system.
•To support and mentor professionals towards career advancement.
•To increase discourse around current issues impacting students regarding Student Equity, Diversity and Social Justice.

Workshop Guidelines
In order for us to have a variety of workshops to offer at this year’s conference, we are seeking workshop proposals that meet the Vision, Mission and Goals for students and/or professionals. We would like workshops to focus on the themes of Student Equity, Social Justice, Diversity in Higher Education.
Below are the guidelines for all proposals submitted: February 9, 2018

• Workshops will be scheduled for one of the 4 breakout sessions, each during 50 minute blocks, on Friday, April 20, 2018.
• For proposals with multiple presenters, proposal updates will be directed to the first contact person. The primary
presenter is responsible for relating any pertinent information to co-presenters.
• Please indicate if you have a specific time preference for your presentation(s). Requests will be accommodated
whenever possible.
• Presenters who wish to participate in the conference will need to register for and pay the regular conference fees.
• Neither honoraria nor expenses will be paid to program presenters.
• All selected presenters will be notified by February 28, 2018.
