Social Justice Intern Application

Thank you for your interest in applying to City Mission's Social Justice Internship!

This internship is for youth committed to social justice and with an interest in gaining work experience in a small nonprofit that works on social justice issues, particularly around homelessness prevention. Interns will begin to explore some of the root causes and consequences of poverty, inequality and racism through an introduction to public policy research, service-learning, communications, and overarching nonprofit organizational structure. The program includes learning activities to foster a deeper understanding of social justice and City Mission’s commitment to educate, empower and engage our community.

The social justice internship program is four weeks long beginning Monday, July 2 and concluding Monday, July 30, 2018. Each intern will work 13 hours a week each week (5 hours on Mondays for group learning day, and one 8 hour day on another day of the week to be arranged with their schedule), and will be paid a stipend of $175 per week. This program is pending funding.

Applications for the internship will be accepted until Friday, May 11, 2017. Interviews for selected candidates will be the week of May 21 - 25.
