Small Talk Application and Informed Consent

Welcome to Small Talk! This 10-week program is provided at no cost to you, thanks to the generous support from the United Way and the Ames Noon Rotary.

Small Talk focuses on nurturing your baby's brain through conversation. If your child falls between the ages of 2 and 30 months, this program is tailored for you. Each week, we'll discover how your baby's brain functions and practice employing the 14 Talking Tips to enhance communication with your child.

Get ready to feel empowered! Small Talk emphasizes your role in your child's development. Engaging in conversation with your child is the most impactful way to foster their neural growth. With access to LENA Start technology, you can monitor your communication with your baby. Throughout Small Talk, you'll track your progress in conversation while witnessing the positive effects on your child firsthand.

As an added incentive, participants will receive a brand new book of their choice every week, encouraging a love for reading and learning in both parents and children.

To enroll in Small Talk, please fill out the following form. Please note that you must be the child's primary caregiver to participate in Small Talk.
