GENERAL INFORMATION
Who can apply?
- Female students at CSM
- Completed 6 units of DGME Broadcast courses  (not "in progress", must be completed)
- GPA at least 2.75
- Will be a DGME Broadcast student at CSM, including the AS-T in Film, Television, and Elec. Media (FTVE) , next Fall semester or will transfer to University as a Broadcasting major or FTVE transfer.


Who was Bonnie Chastain?
Bonnie Chastain studied broadcasting at CSM and became a pioneer in Bay Area broadcasting. She was the first female engineer at KCBS-AM and the first female news director at KOIT-AM/FM. A memorial scholarship was established at CSM upon her death from breast cancer in 1988. Recipients of the award are women concentrating on study in Broadcast & Electronic Media, who intend to pursue a career in broadcasting and who have financial need.

Ms. Chastain was a 1972 graduate of CSM.
