Current open position: Planning Committee

Description: Assists with planning events for the council. We typically plan two events per year - past events included conferences (in-person / virtual) and have also organized a team for the Boston kidney walk. 

Planning committee members cannot be employed by a commercial interest, such as pharmaceutical or device companies (this includes companies such as Fresenius, Pentec, NxStage, etc).

Commitment: We hold virtual meetings once a month (typically the 1st Monday of the month at 10 AM) for ~30 minutes. Perfect attendance is not required! No need to commit to any specific length of time. 

Benefits: You'll get free registration for our events. Getting involved is a great networking opportunity and good for resume building. You'll be the first to hear about other ways to get involved with NKF. 

Open board positions: 
Corresponding secretary 
-attend monthly CRNNE meeting (typically 1st Monday of the month, ~30 minutes via Zoom)
-send out e-mail communications as needed to CRNNE members
-monitor CRNNE inbox monthly
-in absence of recording secretary, take notes during monthly meetings
-work with group for planning events

Chair-elect 
-shadow the current chair for 1 year to learn duties on the chair
-chair-elect will transition to chair after 1 year of shadowing 
-attend monthly CRNNE meeting (typically 1st Monday of the month, ~30 minutes via Zoom)
-send out meeting agenda and lead meeting in absence of chair-elect
-participate in event planning along with board and planning committee members

You'll be the first to hear about other ways to get involved with NKF. The chair-elect will be eligible for reimbursement of NKF professional membership dues after serving for 1 year.
