Federal employees are asking you to sign this petition, to be delivered to Democratic Congressional leadership. The petition urges them to stand up to stop funding ICE's kidnappings and to restore essential healthcare dollars and workplace democracy for federal workers. Without a vote by Congress to renew the federal budget, the government will shut down October 1.  Federal employees and their allies say: Restore a humane government or shut it down.

Dear legislator:

Please vote to block passage of the president’s budget or a Republican continuing resolution to fund the government unless the budget includes the following:

·      Reinstatement of federal employee and federal contractor collective bargaining agreements and union recognition.

·      Elimination of the extra $75 billion provided to ICE under the so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill Act.’

·      Reinstatement of the $1 trillion+ cut from Medicaid and Medicare by the so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill Act.’

Demand that Senator Schumer and Congressman Jeffries and the rest of the Democratic caucus do the same.  

We are federal employees and members of the public. Those of us who are federal employees will not receive paychecks during a government shut-down. We nevertheless call on you to shut the government down rather than fund it under the destructive terms proposed by the president. 

This is your moment to stand up for the American people.
