This is your chance to Make Art, Take Action, and Get Paid! Our ensembles are brave spaces for you to share your thoughts and beliefs and to make powerful art that speaks to important issues in our Austin community and world.
Creative Action is committed to social justice and inclusiveness we strongly encourage applications from youth of color, LGBTQ & non-binary folx, and differently abled people.
COLOR SQUAD@colorsquadcollectiveTeen artists transform public spaces and explore relevant social issues through original murals, sculptures, art installations, and more. Students collaborate with professional artists and community partners to research, design and install public art projects for the community.
YOUTH CINEMA COLLECTIVE@creativeactioncinemaYouth Cinema Collective is dedicated to telling stories in cinema that reflect our community. Members of YCC make original films, study film history and theory, learn production practices for large and small projects, and gain professional-level experience while making lifelong friends among their fellow young filmmakers.
TIME COMMITMENTWe typically meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9pm. Our programs run from the end of August to the end of May. Each program has specific events and projects that may ask students to occasionally meet at a different time or on a different day.
STIPENDOur teens earn a money stipend for their work as artists and in the ensemble.
GROUP PARTICIPATIONOur programs are ensembles and collectives meaning that there is space for individual growth, but we are looking for team players who are excited to work with others on collaborative artistic projects.

Don't stress! This interview is a chance for us to get to know you, your artistic work, and how you collaborate with others. It will consist of some group conversations and a small group artistic project.
