DOG WALKING
Would you like to help our doggies get exercise, stimulation and socialization? Many of our dogs are large and energetic, and a proper protocol must be followed to safely and effectively work with them. To that end, you must first attend three Saturday morning pack walks, during which you will be paired with an experienced walker to be trained and assessed as a primary dog handler.

KITTEN CAGE CLEANER

We are looking for DEDICATED morning cage cleaners. Can you help our babies stay fresh between 8 am - 12 noon?
TAKE A CAT TO A WEEKEND EVENT
We hold a number of adoption events each month at various locations near the shelter, and we are always looking for volunteers to work the events and provide kitty cab rides to them.
INFORMATION BOOTH VOLUNTEER AT ADOPTION EVENTS
How can EASEL grow? By having volunteers like you promoting our wonderful organization at events: accepting donations, selling t-shirts and handing out information. Great to do with friends. Training provided.

CAT AND KITTEN SOCIALIZATION
Are you patient, careful and ready to help our kitties learn to enjoy human companionship? This is an essential step to finding them forever homes. Training will be provided.
SHELTER GREETER AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

We are looking for computer-savvy volunteers to welcome guests and volunteers into the shelter, escort adopters to the adoption area, answer phones and record and transmit messages to the appropriate staff members. Schedule is noon to 3:00 PM. Must commit to 1 day per week. Training provided.

TRAP/NEUTER/RETURN FERAL CATS

Do you want to decrease the number of kittens born to the harsh outdoors? TNR volunteers take traps to feral colony areas and trap cats which are then taken to spay/neuter clinics. The adults are then returned to the colonies and the kittens are given to our adoption team.

Training will be provided.

FOSTER KITTENS IN YOUR HOME

This is a wonderful opportunity to shower love on kitties. We take in a lot of kittens in the spring and summer, many too young for adoption. The best way to help them find their “furever” family is to host them in a loving home until they are old enough to be adopted.
Training is provided, and there always is someone to guide you. The kittens are adorable!! A great, short-term commitment to help some loving kitties. You will be
expected to provide space and socialization time, as well as incurring costs for kitty supplies (food, toys, litter, etc.).

FOSTERING DOGS

Occasionally, we need people temporarily to take dogs home for socialization or because the shelter is full. Do you have the time and space to provide a dog with some loving care? Nurturing a dog will only increase its chances for adoption, and they are so much fun to play with and love!
