A typical summer camp day will include greeting campers, setting up games and crafts and cleaning up after the games and crafts. You may be interacting with an individual camper or a small group of campers helping them complete an activity, play a game or join in singing the camp songs. You will also be expected to assist teachers when asked. The more you participate, the more fun camp is for everyone. Often, strong bonds are made between campers and CITs. You can make a positive difference in a young camper’s summer experience. However, the days can feel long, you may have a challenging camper in your group, and you may feel frustration or impatience from time to time.
With all of this in mind, explain why you think you would like to be a counselor in training. Include some things you think you might be good at and why you want this job. *
