Links Hall's is booking our 2019-2020 season in Studio A (the white box), and we want to work with you!
Our 2019-2020 Linkage Partnerships will showcases the City of Chicago's rich and vibrant performing arts communities and artists of all disciplines, practices, races, colors, religions, genders, sexual orientations, national origins, ages, abilities and genetics.
Links Hall is currently accepting proposals for August 2019 - January 2020, only. *Once August 2019 - January 2020 Linkages are confirmed and contracted, we'll announce our call for February-June 2020 Linkage applications.*
Applicants should expect to hear whether their proposal is successful within 3 weeks of their submission.
Proposals will be reviewed until all performance slots are filled. Links will regularly update this application, website, and Links FB page to reflect our availability.
__________________________________________________WHAT IS A "LINKAGE"?Links Hall dedicates 30+ weeks to co-presentations of new works by self-producing performing artists called "Linkages" (Performance Rentals).
WHEN? We are currently booking August 2019 - January 2020
WHO?Independent artists, independant producers/curators, groups or collective ensembles, small dance/theater/performance companies - all who produce their own live art.
WHAT KINDS OF ART?All new work in performing and live interdisciplinary art forms are welcome EXCEPT music/concerts or film/video projection on its own or as a primary art form.
WHERE?Studio A (White Box) | Links Hall at 3111 North Western Avenue.
__________________________________________________LINKAGE PARTNERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Linkage partners will have a contract orientation, an audience development orientation, and a tech consultation with Links Hall staff as soon as possible after confirming your proposal has been accepted.
Primarily, you agree: - to self-produce your performance (aka create the art) - to co-present your performance with Links’ staff (aka engage the public) - to leave the studio clean, neutral and undamaged after every rehearsal/performance - to fulfill your community commitments to Links Hall- to treat all other artwork happening in the building like it as important as your artwork. - to let staff know if your art is being treated like it’s less important than other art happening here so we can correct it - to accept disbursement of your ticket sales, AFTER your remaining Linkage rental balance is deducted
Primarily, Links Hall agrees:- to co-present your performance with you (aka engage the public)- to ensure the studio is clean, neutral and undamaged - to provide you with the opportunity to fulfill your community commitments- to provide you with space, LD/PSM, sound/lighting/projection equipment as detailed in the Tech Specs (below)- to let you know if you’re acting like your art is more important than other art happening here so you can correct it- to disburse your ticket sales, AFTER your remaining Linkage rental balance is deducted
