SMMUSD is proud to serve our community by continuing to provide Mariachi classes to students enrolled in our district.

Elementary Mariachi Class: Mondays, from 3:30-5:30 PM at Edison Language Academy. Fifth-grade students from any SMMUSD elementary school are eligible to attend these free classes all year.

Middle School Mariachi Class: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 PM at John Adams Middle School. Any 6th- to 8th-grade student in SMMUSD is encouraged to take this free class.

High School Mariachi Class (dual-enrollment with Santa Monica College): Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:30 PM at Santa Monica High School. Any SMMUSD high school student is encouraged to take this class. High school classes begin on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Students will be provided with instruments and all necessary materials at no cost to families, unless a student wishes to use their own guitar, trumpet, or violin. Students will explore the rich history, passion, and tradition of Mexican music.
