The screen printing  process consists of three elements: the screen which is the image carrier, the squeegee and ink. The process uses a porous mesh tightly stretched and glued onto a metal frame. A stencil is produced on the screen either manually or photo chemically.

Screen printing ink is applied to the substrate by placing the screen over the material. Ink is placed onto screen and then forced through the fine mesh openings using a squeegee that is drawn across the screen, applying pressure thereby forcing the ink through the open areas of the screen. Ink will pass through only in areas where the stencil is open, thus forming an image on the substrate.

Pad Printing is the process where an inked image is transferred via a photo-etched plate to a thick, soft silicone pad.

The pad is then pressed against the object. The pad can wrap itself as much as 180° around a small object, and ink coverage is excellent. One colour is done at a time, but registration between colours is good enough to allow four-colour process printing.

Sublimation printing is a technique that uses heat sensitive inks. These inks turn into gas under the influence of heat and combine with a 100% polyester medium. Since the ink becomes part of the structure of the material, the images on the fabric don’t fade or crack – even after multiple washings.
