The Bright Ideas Beacon application
The Bright Ideas Beacon is a student-run newspaper. New staff members are asked to take at least one class or club at The Academy in order to serve. The per semester cost to be guided by Mrs. Anderson in this high school journalism experience is just $75. High school senior Sarah Slack, who served as the inaugural copy editor for The Beacon, has accepted the position of Editor-in-Chief. She will be the student leader of the team.

Tentative Timetable:
June 1 -- registrations due
June 14 -- announce the 2018-2019 Staff positions
Sept. 4 -- first issue released

All new applicants will be given a "writing test" if they want to be a reporter/columnist and/or an "editing test" if they want to be editors. After you complete this application, the Editor-in-Chief will be in contact with you.
