Walking & Cycling: State of Play survey 📝✅
At walkridegm.org.uk we campaign for better walking and cycling across Greater Manchester.

It's been three years since a new vision and plan was agreed to transform things - see background below - and we thought it was time to take a temperature check on how people here feel it's going.

We will use this survey to provide a snapshot of that feedback - results will be aggregated and shared on our website and with the relevant executive lead in the 10 boroughs, and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

(The survey is anonymous. Leave your email at the end if you'd like us to follow up with you on anything)
Background
In autumn 2017, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Mayor Andy Burnham approved walking and cycling commissioner Chris Boardman's Made to Move strategy, an ambitious vision for cycling and walking in the region which proposed a £1.5bn infrastructure fund to be invested in measures to support walking and cycling over the next ten years, and host of supporting services such as bike hire and storage.

The aim: to 'make walking the natural choice for as many short trips as possible' and to 'double and then double again' cycling in Greater Manchester.

This shift plays a central role in delivering Greater Manchester’s transport promise - for at least 50% of all trips to be made by sustainable modes of transport by 2040 (which equates to at least 1 million fewer car journeys, every single day).
