Thank you for your interest in joining Dayspring Resilience Hub in the Neighborhood Asset Mapping Program! Through door-to-door interviews, volunteers will collect community stories, survey neighbors about local assets, and contribute to maps that support emergency preparedness, sustainability, and resilience.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Complete volunteer surveyor training (required in-person or online with exam).
- Join a survey team and conduct community surveys in multiple shifts.
- Collect and document neighborhood stories, skills, and resources.
- Provide feedback to the Resilience Hub by attending virtual check-ins with project staff.
- Contribute to a Neighborhood Asset Mapping tool!
Volunteer Eligibility:
- Be 18 years or older, or 13+ with documented adult permission.
- Be able to walk approximately .5-.75 mile door-to-door while conducting surveys in the neighborhood.
- Have sufficient English proficiency to communicate with community members, take notes, and contribute feedback.
- Complete mandatory volunteer surveyor training in-person or online before canvassing.
- Be available to work collaboratively in assigned teams, participate in scheduled survey shifts, and attend virtual check-ins.
- Demonstrate an interest in community engagement, sustainability, and resilience, and a willingness to interact respectfully with diverse community members.
Youth (ages 13+) and adults are welcome! Youth do not need to be accompanied during activities, but a trusted adult must submit this form in order for their youth registrant to participate. Please include adult or parent/guardian information before moving on to the optional section (Youth Participation).
All volunteers will gain experience in interviewing, storytelling, and data collection while building leadership skills, earning volunteer hours, and making a real impact in the community. We will be hosting events this Spring at Dayspring Resilience Hub, including volunteer surveyor training tentatively in February and scheduling volunteer surveyor shifts for March.
Community service hours are available for students!
