Reno Doula Project Application
A doula (pronounced “doo’ la”) is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the family before, during and just after birth. Studies have shown that when doulas attend a birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier, breastfeed more easily and families have more positive experiences.
The Reno Doula Project (RDP) is made up of a group of highly regarded doulas that are formally trained and experienced in childbirth. The RDP's mission is to provide support to every person who wants a doula, build awareness of healthy, evidence-based birth practices and build a supportive and inclusive birth community. Our services include full scope doula support including development of a birth plan, on-call support before labor, continuous physical/emotional support during labor, breastfeeding and immediate postpartum support.
The doulas of RDP feel passionately that people deserve support and give their time at a discounted rate to those that might not otherwise be able to afford it. The RDP doulas are in no way compensated for their time beyond the rate you pay them. RDP is a non-profit and rely upon all RDP participants to spread the word and encourage other families to participate in our services.
Please complete this application if you are interested in receiving doula services with the RDP.
We promise to do our very best to meet your request and match you with a doula that is right for you and your growing family!
Please note that not everyone will qualify for a doula through the Reno Doula Project. In the event that your family does not, the doulas are available for hire privately.

Would you be interested in having 2 doulas attend your birth? We are offering this option which pairs a newer doula (5 or less births) with an experienced doula (25 or more births). All of our doulas, whether new or experienced, have been through doula trainings and have committed themselves to the standards set forth by the Reno Doula Project.
