JF Webb High School of Health and Life Sciences Commitment Form

J.F. Webb High School of Health and Life Sciences is a redesigned high school that shares the same campus with J.F. Webb High School. We are an academically challenging school that provides the nurturing environment necessary for student growth and success. The school offers a unique educational opportunity designed specifically for first generation college bound students who are highly motivated and have a strong interest in the areas of health or sciences. The school’s focus is to provide students a rigorous and relevant curriculum with an emphasis on building relationships within the school community and to prepare them for success in college or career beyond graduation.

The Future Ready Course of Study is the core curriculum for all students with a focus on health, biotechnology, and sciences. Students are expected to take at least one course per year from the following programs: Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences, Agricultural and Natural Resources or additional science elective courses beyond the science graduation requirements. Some of those additional science elective courses would be Honors Anatomy & Physiology, PLTW: Principles of Biomedical Science, PLTW: Human Body Systems, PLTW: Medical Interventions, AP Biology, Honors Biotechnology, Honors Marine Science. Students will be assigned an advisor to assist with high school and post-secondary planning throughout their tenure in high school.

Once enrolled, students are committed to one year with the school and must take the core courses offered in the School of Health and Life Sciences. Students are allowed to take JROTC, Business and Technology and any of the Arts course if they are interested. All athletics and clubs are available to students in both schools on the J.F. Webb Campus. Students will not be allowed to transfer to or from J.F. Webb High School during the school year. If a student decides not to enroll for the next year, he/she must complete an exit interview with the principal prior to being released.

The information you provide in this Commitment Form will be used to ensure that our student body is reflective to that of our school’s mission. In order to continue enrollment in J. F.
