New Member Interest for RAWK Youth Advisory Council
This form is meant to gauge interest for new members looking to join Read and Write Kalamazoo's youth advisory board. This is not a commitment to joining, but based on the responses you provide you'll be invited to one of our YAC meetings and given more information. After the meeting, you may be formally invited to join our council. From there, you may accept or decline the invitation.

Basic information about RAWK and the YAC: Read and Write Kalamazoo is a non-profit that has various programs for children to help them with their reading, writing, creativity, and social skills. We do our best to promote positive values such as equity, inclusion, confidence, and fun and provide community engagement. The youth advisory council is a way for students from current middle school to high school sophomores to provide input for this organization from their perspective and make change on the local level. We work on various projects such as the storefront, community events, and plan the RAWK end-of-summer block party (our main event). We have meetings every month for two hours each with a free meal every time. Some members have roles such as food planning, scheduling, community outreach that may require spending time for the YAC outside of meetings. However, we are flexible and generally lenient; at our meetings we like to emphasis social interactions and having fun while being productive.
