Bike Durham Board of Directors Application
Thank you for your interest in joining Bike Durham's Board of Directors. We are a volunteer board made up of 7-9 people who passionate about making Durham more bikeable to create a more equitable, vibrant, and healthy community. The board is elected every year by active members of the organization to serve a two year term.

There are 4 seats up for election in 2019 and all applicants that meet the requirements below will be placed on the ballot. Candidates will be listed on the website for review and elections will be held in late February (all dues paying members may vote in person at the elections meeting). Bike Durham is committed to a diverse Board of Directors and organization. People of color, women, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Board Applicant Requirements
1) Candidates must be a current member of Bike Durham. If you are not a current member, you can start or renew your memberships at https://www.bikedurham.org/join.
2) Candidates must reside in Durham County.
3) Candidates must be prepared to serve a 2-year term on the Board of Directors and have the option to run for re-election if they wish at the end of their term.
4) Candidates must be prepared to meet twice a month for board meetings and community meetings. Candidates are also encouraged to join a committee (e.g. Events, Advocacy, Communications, Membership) that reflects their individual interests.
5) Candidates should expect to contribute 3-5 hours a week towards Bike Durham meetings and activities.
