Tasting by the Book Community Cook Application
Do you have a specialty soup, salad, appetizer, or dessert that is well known among family and friends? Do you prefer to purchase locally-sourced ingredients? Do you enjoy creating dishes that utilize fresh, in-season produce? You may be just who the Library is looking for to be a featured Community Cook for a special Farm-to-Table edition of Tasting by the Book.
On Thursday, August 3, from 6 to 8 PM, the Abington Community Library will hold its third annual Tasting by the Book community fundraiser. This unique event provides the opportunity to mingle with friends old and new. Attendees may sample delicious food and bid on their favorite items to enjoy at a later date.

Nominate yourself to be one of our featured Community Cooks for the evening by filling out the application below. Community Cooks will prepare and serve 100 bite-sized samples of their specialty. They must also be prepared to provide a quantity, their choice (e.g. a tray of lasagna, 3 dozen cookies, or a gallon of soup) of the same item, to the highest bidder at a mutually agreed upon date before October 30. You and the bidder may make this transaction at the Library.

Community Cooks will receive one free ticket to the event (value $25).
Tasting cups, plates, napkins, forks, spoons, table clothes, and decorations will be provided.
You may drop off your food on August 3 between 9AM and 5PM, or simply bring it with you to the Library at 5 PM when Community Cooks are scheduled to set up their tables. Cooks may sample on another’s items from 6 to 7PM before doors open. If you are bringing a partner or spouse to help, additional tickets will be on sale starting June 19th.

All proceeds benefit the Abington Community Library.
Limit: 30 cooks; apply today.
