Role Description
Deliver excellent customer service:
● Greet, welcome customers. Share the mission of Village Goods.
● Learn product features and artisan information and share with customers.
● Assist customers in finding gifts or products for personal use.
● Efficiently package purchases, and hand out promotional material where applicable.
Computer:
● Operate the point of sales system to ring through purchases.
● Handle cash and credit cards.
Assist the managers with the following:
● Restock inventory, when time permits.
● Keep the store neat, clean and attractive to customers, including dusting.
Skill Requirements:
● Willingness and ability to interact with the public in a friendly and helpful manner.
● Understanding of the mission of Village Goods and the principles of fair trade.
● Willingness to learn about Village Goods products and share artisan stories.
● Ability to follow customer service standards.
● General computer literacy.
● Oral and written communication skills.
● Dependable and punctual.
● Ability to represent the organization with a neat, clean appearance.
● Experience in retail sales and customer service skills helpful, but not essential.
