Beta Alpha Psi Application for Candidacy Fall 2025
Membership Requirements:

-Submit completed Application for Candidacy by Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 11:59 pm, including a non-refundable application fee of $130. Fees will be paid via Venmo (@Angela-Gaze).

- An undergraduate student shall be considered for membership after meeting the following criteria: Each student must have been enrolled at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business for at least one semester, must have elected accounting, finance or information systems as his/her major for at least one semester, must have completed at least 3 credit hours of accounting upper level classes (3000 level or above), and must have at least a 3.0 major grade point average (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent by the end of fall 2025.

-Additionally, at least one of the following criteria must be met: Each student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent, a 3.0 cumulative grade average where (A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent on the most recent 60 semester hours completed up to the date of election, or a 3.25 cumulative grade point average (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent on the most recent 30 semester hours of coursework completed up to the date of election.     

- A graduate student shall be considered for membership after the student has been admitted to Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business graduate program and is majoring, concentrating, or has a stated interest in accounting, finance, or information systems. Graduate candidates must have attained a cumulative grade average in their graduate courses of at least 3.0 (where A is equal to 4.0) or equivalent by the end of fall 2025.

-Earn 8 professional development hours by Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Each Beta Alpha Psi professional development meeting is worth 1.5 hours.  

-Earn 8 community service hours by Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

-Earn 2 additional professional development or community service hours by Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

-Attend the induction ceremony on Monday, November 17, 2025. (NOTE: Induction ceremony does not count towards the required professional development or community service hours).

-A maximum of 5 non-Beta Alpha Psi professional development hours may be used toward requirements per academic year and a maximum of 5 non-Beta Alpha Psi community service hours may be used towards requirements per academic year. All non-Beta Alpha Psi professional development and community service hours are subject to pre-approval by the Beta Alpha Psi officer team.

-A verification form for all non-Beta Alpha Psi activities must be submitted to the Vice President by Wednesday, November 12, 2025
