We're looking to run this course in a classroom environment, subject to any Covid restrictions at the time.
The Beginners' course is designed to give you all the knowledge and skills required to start keeping bees this year. It comprises 8 classroom sessions - seven theory and one practical, together with two apiary sessions.
The following theory sessions all start at 6.45pm and continue until 9.30pm
Thursdays 27 February, 6, 13, 20 & 27 March 2025
School holiday break 3 & 10 Apr 2025
Continuing then on 17 & 24 April 2025

Honey extraction depends on availability of honey: Provisionally either Thursday 12 or 19 June, 7.00pm - 9.00pm (Dates and venue TBC).
Apiary sessions 10am - 12 noon, 1pm - 3pm
- dates and venue TBC The dates for the practicals are dependent on the weather behaving itself.
All theory sessions and practicals will take place at the Lees Hall Golf Club, Hemsworth Road, S8 8LL though this could be subject to change.
The course fee is £85 and is open to Sheffield BKA members only. This means that applicants have to join SBKA if they are not already members. Minimum membership is Social membership at £19.
