Travis Manion Foundation - Virtual Story Readings
Parents! We know that this school year has looked very different. Now more than ever, our kids need to hear stories of positive role models, hope, and leadership. Through our expanded virtual effort, Travis Manion Foundation's Northeast team will offer opportunities for your child to participate in conversations about character, service, and leadership through story readings.

Every other week at 3:30pm (EST), a Character Does Matter mentor will lead a discussion on character strengths and stories. Each session will be virtual story readings geared towards 2nd to 5th graders.

Dates will be as follows--all will be at 3:30 pm EST facilitated on Zoom:

Monday, January 18th (MLK Jr. Day),
Wednesday, February 3rd,
Wednesday, February 17th
Wednesday, March 3rd

Character Does Matter strengthens character and leadership skills in young adults. Grounded in the evidence-based field of Positive Psychology, the program uses a strengths-based approach to foster character traits in the next generation through a combination of informal discussions and activity-based learning. By sharing stories of real people who exemplify great character and leadership, Character Does Matter demonstrates what it means to live the “If Not Me, Then Who…” ethos – and then challenge students to do the same.

Travis Manion Foundation strives to unite and strengthen communities by empowering veterans and families of the fallen to pass on their ideals and leadership lessons to the next generation and the community at large. The Foundation is dedicated to 1stLt Travis Manion, USMC, who lived by the ethos of “If Not Me, Then Who...”, a constant reminder for all of us to live with character and put the interests of others before our own.
