Host Provider
Host provider events must include the amount of alcohol that will be present at the event. The permitted amount should not exceed enough alcohol to serve each individual of legal age one drink (12 oz. beer, 4 oz. wine) per hour of the event. What quantity of alcohol will be at your event?

-Non-alcoholic beverages must be easily and readily available throughout the event. Food or snacks must be provided in proportions sufficient to serve the expected participants.

-Department of Public Safety officers will staff the entrance to any social event with alcohol. Within fraternity houses, events to which more than 200 people are expected will require one additional security officer for each additional 100 participants. The student group/host is responsible for paying whenever additional security officers are needed for an event.

-The host must provide any guest planning to consume alcoholic beverages with a wristband, stamp, or other distinctive marking, which must be worn at all times. With advance notice, wristbands are available for purchase in the Office of Student Activities & Greek Life, CUB 240.
Sober Monitors (6) *
The following individuals agree to remain sober and not consume alcoholic beverages and are at the event during the entire time. They will, to the best of their abilities, see that all Gettysburg College, national, organizational, and FIPG Alcohol Policies & Procedures are followed. They understand they will be the contact people with Public Safety, an administrator, or the Borough Police, if assistance is needed during the party. Six (6) monitors are required.

TIPS Servers must have completed the college-approved training certification and agree to the same standards as the sober monitors. Two (2) TIPS servers are required.

-Refer to Social Event Policy to ensure the proper management and supervision of your event.

-Events not occurring in chapter houses must be registered and submitted for approval at least two (2) to four (4) weeks in advance of the event (lead time is dependent upon the location and size of the event) in order to be considered for review and approval.
