GEMS 2017-2018 Application
GEMS is a program designed to help middle school girls learn about the range of opportunities that exist within ‘science and technology'. The goal of the program is to encourage girls to maintain and broaden their interest in STEM topics by providing hands-on activities, mentoring, field trips, and information pertaining to a variety of fields. Activities are held during the first week of each month from November through May, and field trips are scheduled at other times during the year. Two parallel groups are formed, one attending at Fred Hutch in SLU and the other at South Seattle College,

This application should be filled out by a student, not by their parent or guardian (although parents/guardians may need to help answer some questions). The first sessions will be held on Wednesday November 2 (South Seattle College) and Thursday November 3 (Fred Hutch). In order to let as many girls as possible experience the program, we only allow participation in GEMS once for each girl.
