Requirements and Important Information
  • Student Leaders should reside within Williamson County, TN or currently attend a public or private high school or homeschool program in Williamson County.
  • The term will run from July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027. 
  • Former student leaders must reapply each year.
  • Wilco Iris holds one Student Leadership Council meeting per month and a minimum of four in-person big events. Student Leaders must attend Council meetings and are expected to attend a minimum of two of the events.
  • Student Leaders are primarily responsible for overseeing the key decisions for student programming and for serving as their school liaison to spread the word about Wilco Iris to their peers, GSAs, and other community members. Student Leaders work in an active leadership space and have opportunities to engage with the broader community and partner organizations as Wilco Iris representatives.
  • If chosen to be a Student Leader, students must provide Wilco Iris with a parental permission slip allowing for communication within the organization and its adult officers.
  • Student Leaders may be featured on our social media/website/press/marketing and will be asked to sign a media release.
  • All information submitted on the application will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for the student selection process.
