Seashore Science with Marine Metre Squared
3.30-5.30pm Tuesday 5th March War Memorial Library, Lower Hutt
Join us for an introduction to the Marine Metre Squared project (www.mm2.net.nz) and find out how your school or community group can gather valuable data that will lead to greater understanding and improved management of your local shoreline. The workshop will introduce the data collection methods, provide a hands –on introduction to Mm2 web site and highlight the on-line data analysis tools and educational resources available (bring your own laptop, tablet or phone). Discussion will focus on survey results (collected earlier in the day) and how the survey can be tailored to answer questions of local relevance.
· Find out more about your coastline and what lives between the tides through hands-on activities and educational resources.
· The perfect project for schools and community groups looking to engage in environmental action.
· Suitable for both primary and secondary school level and community groups
