2024 Illinois Diversity in Brewing Scholarship
The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, with the support of the Siebel Institute of Technology, seeks to enhance the diversity of Illinois’ vibrant craft beer industry through equitable access to education and training. Our organizations share the belief that Illinois’ craft brewing community will be stronger when it more fully reflects a diverse range of experiences, backgrounds, values, skills and opinions. Scholarships will be awarded annually to historically underrepresented groups including Females, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ, or disabled interested in joining the brewing industry or furthering their industry knowledge. Mentorship and job placement support will be available.

Two scholarships will be awarded annually during each calendar year to historically underrepresented individuals. One scholarship will be applied to the Executive Overview of the Brewing Process for individuals without any prior paid experience that are interested in working in craft beer. One scholarship will be awarded to individuals currently working in the industry and looking to further their technical brewing knowledge and covers the cost of the WBA Concise Course in Brewing Technology. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
