WILL A MIND AND LIFE CAMBRIDGE CONFERENCE BE USEFUL?
An international research body
is planning an academic debate and dialogue around research and relationships between the old sciences, - philosophy, ethics, arts and humanities - and the new sciences - physics, cosmology, and material, bio and social sciences.- The conference will be multi-disciplinary and will bring together both established academics and young (under thirty) researchers.
IS A UNIVERSITY CAMPUS THE CORRECT VENUE?
The proposal is to hold this conference in Spring 2015 on the campus of one of the world’s major universities with personal and online participation from other such institutions around the world.
SHOULD CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY AIM TO BE THE HOST CAMPUS?
Cambridge University, UK, is a world top ranking geo-centric university. As such its senior and junior members are likely to contribute to and participate in the proposed international discussion. Cambridge University could be the host campus for this event.
WOULD ATTENDANCE BY LEADING WORLD FIGURES BE HELPFUL?
The proposed event could attract interest from world figures outside of academia - for example political, business and religious leaders, such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Manmohan Singh, Larry Page.
