We -- Clark Grads Demand Healthcare -- are a group of doctoral student workers campaigning for affordable, comprehensive, and equitable healthcare.

In the Spring of 2020, in the midst of a pandemic which has killed nearly two million people across the globe, Clark University raised its student health insurance rates by nearly 20%. Because doctoral student stipends range from only $18,250 to $24,000, for many grad workers, the $2100 cost imposed on us passes the threshold for the World Health Organization’s definition of catastrophic healthcare costs.

Join us in demanding that Clark University reverse this unaffordable and immoral premium hike on grad student workers! Clark claims in its mission statement that the university is “...distinguished by the pursuit of scientific inquiry and humanistic studies [and] enlivened by a concern for significant social issues.” Through our teaching or research responsibilities, we perform essential functions that the University cannot function without.
And yet Clark denies us our basic necessities as human beings, while relying on our labor.
