Discovering Justice Volunteer Form
Discovering Justice is empowering a rising generation of leaders through an innovative civics curriculum which utilizes courtrooms as classrooms and classrooms as civic spaces—encouraging agency, empathy, and voice in K-8 students across Massachusetts. One of the ways we achieve this goal is through our field trips to the Moakley Courthouse. We invite students to the courthouse to engage in a 2-hour interactive mock trial/mock appeal. With the help of our volunteers, students engage in critical thinking, prepare oral arguments, and ultimately present their cases to their peers.
