Because our school is a co-op, parents are asked to help the preschool run smoothly by performing one task. Please read the job descriptions below and select your top 3 preferences. We will try our best to honor your requests as much as possible.

CLEANING (4 parents per class) : This committee comes in one evening at the end of the Summer to clean all toys and equipment in the classroom together. Then they sign up for one other time to come and clean the toys with someone else on the committee during the school year.

TEACHER'S AIDE (2-3 parents per class) : Signs up at Fall meeting for 3 times throughout the year to come and help teacher after school hours with updating bulletin boards, changing book displays and the tactile table, and organizing materials.

TYPIST (1 parent per class) : Types class monthly calendars for both a.m. and p.m. classes 3-4 times per school year.

CRAFTS (3 parents per class) : Receives art packets from the teacher (which include directions and supplies for cutting out, tracing, etc.) and prepares given items for upcoming art activities.

PROGRAMS (2 parents per class) : Helps provide refreshments for the Fall Parent meeting. Acts as hostess and helps with set up and clean up for Orientation Day, the Holiday program, and Graduation.

SLIDE SHOW PRESENTATIONS (1 parent) : Receives pictures from the preschool year several weeks before the end of the year. Organizes them into a presentation using the software of your choice. The slideshow is shown at the graduation program. A link is also provided for parents/students to view the slide show as a keepsake.

SEWING AND LAUNDRY (1 parent) : Mends any dress-up clothes, etc. as needed. Washes dress-up clothes, doll clothes, baking aprons, etc. at the beginning of the school year and as needed throughout the year. Sews for one art project as needed.

FUNDRAISER DISTRIBUTOR (1 parent) : Responsible for sorting fundraiser orders in late October or early November and distributing them to the correct parents.

NO PREFERENCE : I would be willing to be assigned to any of the above where I’m most needed.

BOARD POSITIONS: The preschool is run by a board made up of the director, teachers, and 6 parents. They are an especially valuable part of the preschool. Board meetings take place 5-6 times in a school year. Board Member positions are as follows: Publicity, Treasurer, Secretary, and Registrar (2-3).
