Application for the Student LGBTQ+ Diversity Fund (2019-2020)
Please note that the purpose of the Fund is to encourage Kenyon College activities that: 1) provide support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students, as well as others in the gender spectrum (LGBTQ+) and 2) foster understanding, acceptance, and tolerance among the general campus community and combat prejudice and discrimination against LGBTQ+ persons with a special emphasis on activities that seek to accomplish both of the above-listed purposes simultaneously.
Approved funding may be used to finance resources for campus activities such as (but not limited to) printed materials, meetings, discussions, counseling, conferences, speakers, concerts, exhibitions, and celebrations. It is the intention of the donor that this Fund be used to support innovative and creative activities seeking to accomplish the above-described purposes, not simply to replace existing funding from other sources of routine activities.
This academic year, proposals for programming around National LGBTQ+ History Month (October), National Coming Out Day (October 11), Trans Day of Remembrance/Resilience (November 20), LGBT Health Awareness Week (March 23-27), and Trans Day of Visibility (March 31) are especially encouraged.
The priority deadline for applications to receive full consideration for the 2019-2020 academic year is Friday, September 27. Additional applications are considered on a rolling basis.
