SELPA Administrators ~ Partnership Interest

Thank you for considering partnering with SELPA Administrators of California! For the past four and a half decades, Special Education Local Plan Areas have ensured that students with disabilities and their families have access to a continuum of programs and services in all regions of the state.

In carrying out this essential work, our members collaborate monthly with our superintendents and boards of education, as well as with every special education administrator in California. We make important recommendations on curriculum, assessment, interventions, providers, and consultants. And, we proudly advocate on major special education issues in a manner that expands access to the least restrictive environment with a bias for action, equity, and social justice.

A total of 137 SELPAs support all regions of California
SELPA Administrators provide leadership to over 1,500 superintendents and charter leaders on special education fiscal issues through established SELPA governing boards.
SELPA Administrators support special education directors and coordinators in over 2,000 local educational agencies.
We provide legislative advocacy to promote inclusionary practices, equity, and improved student outcomes.
Successful advocated for increased base rate funding and pandemic learning recovery and dispute prevention.
SELPA Administrators of California hosted events will draw over 3,000 attendees in 2023-2024, including over 800 attendees at the SELPA State ADR Conference each March.
Active social media following including an average of 40 new website visitors daily and over 1,000 Facebook friends and over 1,200 followers.
Quarterly SELPA IMPACT Newsletters; a listserv of over 4,500 educators, superintendents, legislators, parents, and agency partners; and robust podcasting and video production.
