Implicit Bias and the Four Dimensions of Racism is an educational session that has been used regionally by the Equity Alliance, the TK-12 Humboldt--Dal Norte Equity Partnership, and equity arcata with schools, non-profits, local government, and other organizations. During this 8-hour training, the group will establish a shared language to talk about race and racial equity. We will explore the concepts of implicit bias and the dimensions of racism that include internalized, interpersonal, institutional, and systemic racism. We will discuss and strategize how to actively work against racism at all of these levels.
Portions of the program will be instructional while others will be interactive. There will be opportunities to ask questions, reflect, and discuss in pairs and groups.
The sessions will be facilitated by Ron White and Meridith Oram.
