Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Registration 2019-2020
This sign up is for ONE CHILD. Please complete an additional form for each child you plan to register. Please note that CGS does not count toward CCE requirements.
As of August 20, 2019, most of our classes are full. Please feel free to register your child to be added to our wait list. We currently have a few openings in our Level 1 Tuesday 2:30-4:00 class, and our Level 2 and Level 3 Tuesday 4:30-6:00 classes.
Available class times this year are:
Sunday Level 1 and Level 2 - 3:15 - 4:45 PM
Tuesday Level 1 and Level 2 - 2:30 - 4:00 PM
Tuesday Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 - 4:30 - 6:00 PM
This form is time stamped. While it holds each child's place in line, it does not guarantee a spot for each child. The best way to guarantee a spot in the classroom for your student is to become a trained catechist and work in the classroom each week.
All parents will be expected to commit to assisting with the ministry each week, unless you have a sick child and miss class or will be out of town. If you cannot commit to this, then please do not register your child(ren) for this ministry. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Different ways to help each week are (you just need to do one to a few roles from among this list, depending on which day your child attends CGS):
1.) Become a trained catechist and/or work in the classrooms each week as a parent helper. This requires Virtus training.
2.) Become CPR & Virtus Trained and volunteer in the nursery for catechists' and atrium helpers' children on Tuesdays.
3.) All non-catechist families must arrive early on Sundays to set up the rooms or stay late after the Tuesday 4:30 class to restore classrooms.*
4.) Arrive early on Sundays to watch children while parents set up the rooms, or stay late on Tuesdays to supervise
children while parents restore classrooms. This requires Virtus training.*
5.) Be on the weekly rotation to bring flowers to the atrium and arrive early before class starts and finishes to open the locked door for families as they arrive, since the church requires the door to remain locked at all times.
6.) All families are asked to help with making more materials, like cutting, making booklets, etc.
* Setting up and restoring the classrooms will require 30- 45 minutes.
While each of these commitments are great, we understand how important this ministry is to our children's formation and believe that it is worth it. You only need to help in a few ways to help this program run smoothly.
Registration fee (sibling discount given): $60 for one child, $90 for two children, $110 for three children, $130 for four children. Make check payable to St. Bartholomew. Check is due the first day of class in September. If you are a committed weekly trained catechist, these fees are waived. Please let us know if this is a financial hardship and tuition assistance is requested; no one is turned away because of inability to fully pay.
