Are you tired of running large furnaces? Tapping 2000 pounds every six minutes getting old?
Why not try something new? The NCCCIAP is proud to bring back the World’s Tiniest Cupola
Contest!
Try your hand at building the smallest iron furnace you can. We invite you to
construct a really, really small furnace and try to achieve tiny iron superiority!
Guidelines:
-Keep it small
-You must provide everything needed to run your furnace. This includes tools, equipment and
supplies. Sloss will provide 110-v power, if needed
-There are no restrictions on materials or size, but do not make it large enough to be laughed at
-You must have molten iron within 90 minutes of a cold start
-Sloss will provide “ingot” molds to pig into
-A handful of coke and iron will be provided, but don’t be afraid to bring your own
-(Tiny) Awards may or may not be given for aesthetics, functionality, and production
Space is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t delay! That will
only make your tiny furnace run slower.
