This program is open only to legal residents of the five boroughs of New York City.
Fill out all fields of the application and submit at the bottom before Monday, May 6, 2019 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. With this application you will need to submit:
1. Résumé (max. two pages) 2. Two work samples (mp3 files or SoundCloud links) 3. Score (optional but strongly recommended)
All work samples should be less than 5 minutes. If you are submitting mp3 files and scores by uploading them to this application, name your files like this: Ludwig 1.mp3 and Ludwig 2.mp3 (i.e. Last name and work sample #). The number specifies the order in which you would like the samples to be considered by the panel. If you are sending by SoundCloud links, make sure in SoundCloud to click on ‘permissions’ and click ‘enable download’ (CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO DO THIS).
Scores are not required, but strongly recommended. You can upload scores to the application.
For Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, & Staten Island residents, please rate which facility you prefer.
Optional: If you plan on working with any musicians – either other composers or performers – during the course of your residency, please provide information about the collaboration: how many instrumentalists (please specify type) or vocalists, style of music, etc.
Please limit your statement to 450 words.
This can take the shape of a masterclass, assembly, workshop, meet and greet, and/or enrichment project to participants of all ages including youth, adults, and/or seniors. This will be in addition to the already required public program.
We will not accept midi recordings.
Submit work samples either as mp3 files uploaded to application or as SoundCloud links below. SoundCloud links must be set to downloadable. (See Guidelines for more specifications.) Samples should not be longer than 5 minutes. Work sample #1 will be considered first.
Name your files like this: Ludwig 1.mp3 and Ludwig 2.mp3 (last name and work sample #).
I certify that all statements made in this application are true to the best of my knowledge. I acknowledge that Exploring the Metropolis (EtM) is not liable for damage or loss of any materials submitted.
