Virginia Beach City Public Schools Speaker Request Form

PLEASE NOTE: The location of the School Board meeting will be at the School Administration Building #6, 2512 George Mason Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23456 in the School Board Room. 

The School Board will meet Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in person at the School Administration Building #6, 2512 George Mason Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Public seating will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties may also watch via VBTV Channel 47, observe via Livestreaming or via Zoom.

The School Board will hear public comments on matters relevant to PreK-12 public education in Virginia Beach and the business of the School Board and the School Division. Citizens who would like to speak can sign up to speak either in person or electronically. The School Board has determined that the first ten speakers will be currently enrolled VBCPS students (if there are more than ten student speakers signed up). After the first ten student speakers, student speakers signed up to speak will be alternated with non-student speakers until there are no more currently enrolled VBCPS student speakers for that meeting. All speakers must be signed up to speak by noon on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Public comments will be heard as set forth in the agenda.

Speakers must state the topic that will be presented during the meeting. During the public comments section of the meeting, the School Board will hear comments on matters relevant to PreK-12 public education in Virginia Beach and the business of the School Board and the School Division. If a public speaker speaks on a matter not relevant to PreK-12 public education in Virginia Beach and the business of the School Board and the School Division, the speaker will be ruled out of order and will forfeit the time left for public comment.

Citizens requiring accommodations to speak at or observe/listen to the meeting should contact the School Board Clerk or designee to discuss accommodations by 9:00 a.m. on the day before the meeting. If an accommodation is needed, please call 757-263-1016.

Requirements for In-person speakers
In-person speakers who are not seated in School Board Chambers may be required to remain outside of the School Administration Building until called to speak. Please note that there may large numbers of public speakers and the wait time could be lengthy.  Access to the lobby areas of the School Administration may be limited therefore persons waiting outside should be prepare for outdoor conditions.  Citizens requiring accommodations to these requirements are encouraged to participate through electronic means or to contact the School Board Clerk to discuss accommodations.
