We are so excited that you are interested in helping our school be a safe place in the mornings.  Safety Patrol is a leadership opportunity in our school which provides our oldest students the opportunity to set a great example for the entire campus.

**We will begin 2023-24 with 5th Grade students serving as our Safety Patrol - overall turnout will determine if/when we ask for assistance from our 4th Grade students.  Thank you for your understanding.

Safety Patrol is a morning position from 7:20 am to 7:45 am assisting teachers & staff with greeting students at one of the drop-off points around the building and/or helping younger students get to the appropriate place.  All Safety Patrol students will wear vests while on duty and be in their positions at appropriate times to help the “flow” of traffic in the main hall and the POD entrances.  They may arrive at school and come in the gym starting at 7:20am – belts will be distributed first come/first serve.  PLEASE take note that the school doors will not be unlocked until 7:20 so there is no need to arrive any earlier.  There will not be a roster of assignments each week, however, depending upon the turnout we may assign days of the week to different classes so that more have the opportunity to participate.  The locations for duty will be filled as students arrive when they take an available vest that is designated for a specific role.  There is no expectation that students serve a specific number of days per week - we welcome all and understand that not every day works for every student.

To be eligible for and to remain part of Safety Patrol, students must be in good standing at Pink Elementary.  A student in good standing is one who follows Think Pink and has all class work/homework up to date.
