AppJam+, an initiative of Dreams for Schools, uses the concept of building software in a short period of time as a tool to excite and inform middle school students about the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields while teaching them the creative and technical process of mobile application development and raising awareness of careers in STEM.
As a student mentor, you will get to interact with middle school students in teaching them mobile development in a fun, but also educational setting (training will be provided to all mentors)! This experience will be a great resume builder that employers value and scholarship organizations love. In addition, you will learn how to use an online platform to create a mobile application...and earn a stipend!
Mentors must be available for a 2 HOUR TEACHING PERIOD (roughly) between 3PM - 6PM on Mon/Wed OR Tues/Thurs to mentor middle school students at an off-campus location in Riverside.
